Power catamarans have become increasingly popular among those looking for a crewed charter yacht over the past 5 years. They provide more living space for clients who prefer power rather than sail. The layout is similar to a sailing catamaran but with larger twin engines you get the best of both worlds!

On a power catamaran charter yacht there is plenty of deck space where you can spread out and relax.  They have a large entertaining area at the stern of the power catamaran that is ideal for several couples sharing a yacht. Normally the configuration is 4 or 5 Queen suites dependent upon the size of vessel and most suites are similar in design, which again is perfect if you are planning to share the yacht with a group of friends.  The draft on a power catamaran is very shallow and so they can anchor close to shore in the pale turquoise water; so it’s easy for charter guests to swim ashore to the beach.

Because power catamaran have a lot more storage space they tend to offer an advanced water sports selection that normally includes waterskies, wakeboards, kneeboards, kayaks, standup-paddle-boards and snorkeling equipment as well as a good sized powerful dinghy.  The larger catamarans may also offer Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) for use when diving.

Most power catamaran charter yachts offer diving from the yacht; this is usually included in the charter price for a British Virgin Island charter, however there is usually a charge for other Caribbean destinations, the Mediterranean and the Rest of the World.

If any particular activity, for example Kiteboarding, is not an option on your desired yacht we can always fix this up for you with a local recommended operator.

Power catamaran crewed yachts start at around 60 ft with manufacturers such as Horizon, increasing in size with the very popular manufacturer Sunreef who make numerous different models up to 115 ft.
